Introducing… CHRIS DONNELLAN, REGIONAL PROPERTY PHOTOGRAPHER FOR LONDON

Welcome to our Meet the Team series where we introduce the team behind the work. Find out what they love about their careers and just as importantly what makes them tick outside of work too.

What would be your superpower and why?

Teleportation!! Obviously to see the world and experience different countries but it’s mainly to beat the London traffic (I’m looking at you Hangar Lane, and the entirety of South London).

How do you take your tea / coffee?

I have three black coffees every morning before I leave the house. Sometimes on a hot day I’ll treat myself to an iced latte.

What’s your go-to takeaway order?

Garlic and chilli chicken bhuna, pilau rice, garlic naan, onion bhajis then a bit of everyone else’s! Indian food is my absolute favourite, I have a local I always go to and they do something called a Lamb Ding Dong. I don’t ask questions but it tastes amazing haha! Shoutout to The Pride of Burnham!

What do you enjoy the most about your job?

I’m very lucky to see some of England’s best homes, but even better than that is the people I meet. Whether that’s the owners of the properties themselves or the agents I work with. Everyone has a story to tell. I’ve even had dinner cooked for me once!

What’s the best place you’ve travelled to, and why?

Rome is one of my favourite cities ever, I love it there, but what has stuck with me the most was a summer trip to the Lake District. It’s such a beautiful place and I can’t believe it’s in England.

Any guilty pleasures?

I’m a big hip-hop and drum and bass fan, but I’m not ashamed to say I love a bit of Billie Eilish and Lady Gaga.

What’s your impulse buy at the supermarket checkout?

I’m a sucker for a cheesecake so I always try to distance myself from the dessert section, but somehow, I always find a way there.

How long have you been at Fourwalls?

I’ve been at Fourwalls for over five years and it’s been the most incredible journey. I started as a trainee photographer and now I am the Regional Photography Manager for London. It’s been fun, intense and so rewarding all at once.

If you won the lottery, what would you do first?

Put it all on black. In all seriousness I’d be a boring jackpot winner. I’d lock away 50% of it then use the rest to pay mum’s mortgage, help my brothers and sister out, then I’d buy the latest camera gear and explore the world.

What career advice would you give your younger self?

Find out what imposter syndrome is then overcome it as quickly as possible. Everyone in life is winging it so it’s okay for you to do so too. Having confidence in yourself and your skills far outweighs having the latest and great equipment; just go out, meet people and shoot pictures!
